last day at the Tour of California!

Last day of Tour of California coming up tomorrow.  It’s been a long week, but definitely worth it.  I’m heading out early to find a good spot on the climb.  It is a circuit race so they will be doing it 4 times.  Watch for me!

I was at the time trial today walking around with the costume in LA.  I got on TV briefly.  Its so funny to see everyone’s reaction to the costume.  I constantly get people shouting "yo bottle boy" or "Clean Bottle, whats up?"  A bunch of people wanted photos and it seems like a lot of people had seen me on TV or at the race before, so it is cool that people are recognizing me.  Its a bit stressful to walk around in a costume all day.  Its hot in there and I can barely see, and I naturally would prefer not to be noticed, and a giant bottle costume is about as noticeable as it gets.   But I think ultimately people get much more enjoyment out of seeing something like this than if i did a web ad or a commercial. That’s what it’s all about – getting the word out about your product in a fun, creative way that people will value and get a kick out of.  Plus, I can’t afford a commercial J

After Tour of California I’d love to hit some local running and triathlon races in the suit and then rest up for the Tour de France!  I can’t do that race all alone though, so i need to talk someone into joining me.  I may even make another costume so we have two to maximize TV coverage and / or have a back up.  Who is in?!

Below are some photos from the Big Bear stage.  I’ll post more on the other stages soon.

Saw you on ToC, and loved that Phil Liggett gave you props live on the air.

You idea is so simple, yet so genius. Wish I’d thought of it. You will be rich soon.

I am going to REI right now to buy some bottles.

Best of luck in all you do.

More Clean Bottle at the Big Bear Lake stage photos. These are of my parents who mentioned meeting you. Wish I could have been there!

These bottles are a superb idea!!
